Aston Villa hijacks Everton deal for Leeds United winger Jack Harrison

Fabrizio Romano claims Aston Villa is “trying to hijack” the Leeds United-Everton transfer of Jack Harrison.

The Italian journalist tweeted Sunday evening (13 August) that the Villans are trying to take Harrison from Everton despite medical exams going place the same day.

Since Elland Road activated his relegation release clause, numerous clubs can do so, and the 26-year-old will decide.

The Telegraph reported on Sunday that the English winger has joined Everton, but it may not be finalized yet.

Everton will hope that if Unai Emery comes in late, Harrison will choose them.

Villa had a better season last year and qualified for Europe, whereas the Toffees may struggle again if they can’t get the proper players.

After losing out on a loan agreement for a winger in January when Arnaut Danjuma left to join Tottenham after Frank Lampard was ousted, the club needs to avoid a repetition.

The Villarreal guy is one of three players at Goodison Park, but the fourth appears to still be in play.

Harrison will be out for a few weeks due to injury, but Premier League clubs are interested.

After losing their top-flight openers, both clubs have turned their attention to Elland Road.
