Despite remaining unbeaten in the league so far, Juventus’ flaws were evident in their 2-1 loss to Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night. PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma faced a few difficult saves after Juve fell behind by two goals within 22 minutes at the Parc des Princes.

Following a dull draw at Fiorentina last week, Max Allegri’s men have drawn criticism for their lack of cohesion as well as their inability to string together strong results. Both Roma and Spezia scored in the opening 10 minutes of their last three Serie A games, with Vlahovic assisting from early set-pieces – but Juventus seem to run out of steam fairly quickly and sit back afterwards.

Only Spezia have had fewer shots on target in the second half of games than Juve’s paltry four, so they will certainly seek to improve their performance in that regard after the break on Sunday. After seeing star signings Angel Di Maria and Paul Pogba sidelined for some or all of their opening games, the club still remains just four points off top spot.

Five of Juventus’ six previous top-flight matches against Salernitana have ended in defeat – including a 2-0 loss in March. Since then, Davide Nicola’s side has emerged from Serie B with a healthy tally of five points from their first four matches.

Salernitana fought back from behind to lead heading into the final 10 minutes at Stadio Arechi, but ultimately drew 2-2. The Campanian team has six points at this stage, and after scoring three goals in four appearances with loan signing Boulaye Dia, they are mid-table at the moment.

The ex-Torino manager will probably prefer the games against Lecce, Sassuolo, and Verona rather than Sunday night’s forbidding match with Turin. He has always been a Juve fan, but he would love nothing more than to upset his city rivals.

In a 3-5-2 formation, Boulaye Dia will join Federico Bonazzoli or recent loan signing Krzysztof Piatek at the front after scoring three goals in five games. Franck Ribery, Matteo Lovato, Ivan Radovanovic, and Emil Bohinen all expected to miss out.
