Since Lionel Messi’s debut in MLS, opposing coaches are directly influencing ticket sales to maintain home-field advantage.
Inter Miami faces Philadelphia Union in the League Cup semifinals on Tuesday. Union head coach Jim Curtin urged local fans not to buy tickets on the resale market to avoid a pro-Inter Miami throng at Subaru Park.
Curtin advised against selling tickets, regardless of the price.
Resale match tickets start at $300 on major platforms.
“Subaru Park will be full. Definitely the city’s top ticket. Curtin said, “I’m excited because some celebrities will be in Philly.”
Messi has increased MLS League Pass, merchandise, and social media subscriptions.
“Unprecedented access to Messi and his new Inter Miami family” is promised in Apple TV+’s six-part docuseries on Messi’s time in MLS.
The company’s four-part documentary on Messi’s career and 2022 FIFA World Cup victory is independent of this project.
Apple will collaborate with New York-based Smuggler Entertainment on both projects.
