Bayern Munich defender Pavard is close to Inter

The agent representing Bayern Munich says Benjamin Pavard is very close to Inter, all we need is for Bayern to find a replacement. ‘There is no more distance between clubs.’

The talks were going well until Friday evening when Deutschland revealed the Bundesliga heavyweights were closing the door and not selling Pavard.

That was always going to be difficult to maintain, especially because his contract only runs until the end of the season.

Inter CEO Beppe Marotta said last night that Pavard has told both clubs he wants to join the Nerazzurri and that conversations are “very much open”.

According to mediator Giovanni Branchini, the teams have reached a contract and are waiting for Bayern Munich to replace him.

“Pavard is very close to Inter,” Branchini told Radio Sportiva today.

Bayern needs to find a right-back who can push Mazraoui at this moment. The Nerazzurri operation will finish by the transfer window.

“I think as of today there is no more distance between the clubs, we are just waiting for that solution.”

The agreement is worth €25m with add-ons to reach France International’s €30m asking price.

Bayern Munich plays him as a right-back, although Inter would play him as a center-defender on the right of a three-man backline.

The 27-year-old France international has 49 caps and was linked to Manchester United.
