Torino is in talks to sign Inter Milan wingback Valentino Lazaro to replace Monaco-bound Wilfried Singo.
Lazaro was loaned to Torino last season.
Since joining Inter from Hertha Berlin in the summer of 2019, the 27-year-old Austrian international has been loaned many times.
Newcastle United, Borussia Monchengladbach, and Benfica have loaned Lazaro.
None of them have permanently signed the Austrian. Nor did Torino, it appears.
Granata could do so. They reportedly had a €7 million Lazaro buy option.
Torino initially considered using that clause. Lazaro suited well with Granata coach Ivan Juric’s 3-5-2 style, even though a knee injury kept him out for a few months.
Torino requested a bargain from Inter to sign Lazaro. They ultimately opted against buying.
Torino Could Sign Inter’s Valentino Lazaro
Torino is about to offload another wingback.
Ivorian international Wilfried Singo is close to joining Monaco next season.
Thus, the Granata may need to add a flanker for next season. Because Ola Aina left for Nottingham Forest on a free transfer.
Torino still believes in promising Atalanta wingback Brandon Soppy.
Restoring Lazaro is another possibility.
The Austrian performed well last season. The Granata liked the player’s performance despite not buying him.
