Real Madrid’s 18-year-old Turkish midfielder Arda Güler will miss six weeks after right knee arthroscopic surgery.
AS reports that Guler may play in the Madrid derby against Atlético Madrid at the Metropolitano on September 24.
Güler is resting in Madrid after Monday morning surgery.
The club will gradually reintegrate him into the squad.
Güler was injured on Real Madrid’s pre-season tour of the US. He had to return to Madrid early to recover.
The team has not disclosed the injury, but it is considered to be mild.
Güler is Real Madrid’s first injured player to have surgery. Thibaut Courtois and Eder Militao are also hurt, but their surgery dates remain unknown.
Güler has a promising future as a young player. He made his Real Madrid debut last season and has impressed in limited play.
The club is hopeful he will recover and play shortly.
