At the age of 96, the iconic monarch passed away peacefully at her home in Scotland.
UEFA Europa League and UEFA Europa Conference League players wore black armbands after her death was confirmed, while Arsenal paused their game against FC Zurich for a minute of silence.
There were also sports suspended as a mark of respect. The BMW PGA Golf Championship, the Tour of Britain, and Scottish Rugby matches were among them.
Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur’s clash and Fulham and Chelsea’s London derby were among the Premier League games affected.
