The unveiling of Brazil’s World Cup Squad on Monday dashed the hopes of those who thought the country may field a subpar team in Qatar later this month. Brazil Team Squad 2022 FIFA World Cup features nine Forwards players.
Adenor Leonardo Bacchi, better known as Tite, has named no fewer than nine forwards in his 26-man squad, highlighting not only his breadth of options up front but also hinting at the kind of high-pressing, attacking strategy we can expect to see from the most successful team at the FIFA World Cup at this year’s tournament in Qatar.
In addition, the Brazilian FA confirmed that former PSG manager Ricardo Gomes will be joining Tite’s staff. Brazil will undergo a five-day training camp at Juventus’ facilities in Turin beginning on November 14, followed by a flight to Doha on November 19.
Brazil’s group for the tournament is G, which also includes Serbia, Switzerland, and Cameroon. Four years earlier in Russia, when Brazil lost to Belgium in the quarterfinals, Serbia and Switzerland were also in their group. On November 24th, Brazil will kick off its World Cup campaign against Serbia in Qatar.
Tite, 61, has been in charge of Brazil for the past six years, but he has already declared that he will leave down after this tournament. His childhood idol Luiz Felipe Scolari led Brazil to their last World Cup victory 20 years ago.
